26 Circular Companies To Shop From
If you are going to purchase something, we encourage you to purchase from a company that prioritizes the circular economy. Discover our top picks.
Why Shop Circularly?
The power of our dollar goes further than we realize. Our money builds our economy and inherently supports the same economy that is destroying the earth. What if there was a way that we could actively become conscious consumers? Could our spending dollars create an economy that is restorative, circular, and beneficial? At Carom, we believe that thoughtful spending can help build a Living Economy.
Why You Should Shop from This List
All of the companies on this list have been included because they fall into one of four categories:
Conventional
Nominal
Sustainable
Restorative
Regenerative
You can learn more about each scoring category here.
Though some of the companies on this list rank higher than others, they are all fantastic options compared to what is currently on the market. If you are going to purchase something, we encourage you to choose to purchase from a company that prioritizes the circular economy.
Identify Your Needs vs. Wants
Before buying something, we encourage you to identify your core needs. Core needs are items or products that are essential to survival, such as food, shelter, medicine, water, etc. These core needs are non-negotiables when it comes to consumption. Once you know your core needs, you can determine which items are luxury purchases and may not need to be bought.
By listing your core needs, you can begin to break down or consider how you can meet them sustainably.
For example, energy. Can switching to solar power in my home support regenerative practices?
When grocery shopping, are there places that I can choose to shop at that are local and organic rather than supporting commercial farming?
For access to water, is there any way that I can purchase a water filter and replace single-use water bottles?
